At Foxfield we are proud to offer both adaptive riding and non-mounted horsemanship programs. All our lessons are specifically tailored to each individual, helping them achieve personal growth physically, mentally, and emotionally. Our high standards for these programs ensure each of our students succeed and learn in an inclusive and fun environment.
Our amazing coaches carry a specialized background in both equine coaching and individuals with disabilities, allowing for the greatest success of our programs.
We exclusively offer private lessons, as we believe the importance of one-on one-interaction with our coaches, volunteers and equine partners is what offers such undeniable success and growth to our amazing students.
Adaptive RIDING
Adaptive riding offers students and array of benefits physically, emotionally, socially, and so much more. The gait of a horse is where the magic starts - Physically these footfalls guide our students to improve balance and coordination, strengthen and stretch muscles, as well as improve motor skills and concentration. Psychologically we see a great improvement in our students striving to take initiative and develop a true sense of responsibility and self-discipline, as well as improved self-confidence and a general sense of overall well-being. Socially our students bloom in the saddle and in the barn with their four-legged friends and their amazing volunteers where you can witness friendships, enjoyment, trusting relationships, and the development of empathy and respect.
We work hard to incorportate many educational elements to our therapeutic riding lessons that benefit our riders such as remedial reading and mathematics, patterns and sequencing, hand-eye coordination, motor planning, and visual and spatial perception.
