Foxfield Stable T.R.C. focuses on helping our students grow by ingraining an important sense of independence, passion and confidence through loving equine relationships and a strong community.
Foxfield Stable Therapeutic Riding Centre was established in 2017 from its mother facility, Windrush Stable Therapeutic Riding Centre. Windrush Stable successfully operated for over 40 years by owner & operator, Leslie Ridout, who has now departed the equine industry, handing the reins to daughter Lindsey Palo, owner & operator of Foxfield Stable and Foxfield Stable T.R.C.
Foxfield Stable T.R.C. offers therapeutic riding lessons with the same rigid high standards and always the top priority of safety. We exclusively offer private lessons, as we believe the importance of one on one interaction with our coaches, volunteers and equine is what offers such undeniable success to our students.
Our therapeutic horseback riding offers a chance for our students to feel completely successful at a very unique activity while receiving both educational and therapeutic benefits. The relationship students develop with their equine as well as volunteer partners promotes levels emotional and social growth.
This program offers students a unique opportunity to create a meaningful relationship and bond with an equine companion. Our unmounted lessons provide individuals with special needs the chance to learn and develop equine knowledge, understand the social behaviours of horses, safe horse handling practices and barn management skills.
Heart to heart
The goal of this program is to help children attain the skills necessary to establish ongoing friendships. While participating in activities such as role playing, nature walks, studying equine behaviour as well as watching herd dynamics, we offer your child an opportunity to understand how their actions are interpreted by others.
FUN ON THE FARM
Foxfield provides a fun and educational time for groups of 8 to 16 students. This experience is custom designed and can be tailored for school age students with special needs or adult day programs. This 2 hour activity includes a tour, grooming and leading horses, a ride on our mechanical horse and an equine themed craft. This may be considered a “one time” activity or or a series of outings.
